About the procedure
The complete Mommy Makeover brings together several procedures aimed at changes that can follow pregnancy and breastfeeding: abdominoplasty addresses excess skin and separated abdominal muscles; liposuction, localized fat; the BBL improves the contour of the buttocks using your own fat; and mastopexy lifts and reshapes the breasts.
They are combined to address these areas in one plan with a single recovery. Because several procedures are involved, surgical time is longer, so Dr. Díaz carefully assesses whether it is safe to perform them together in your case or whether the plan should be divided into stages. The order and scope of each procedure are tailored to each patient.
Who it is considered for
- Mothers with changes to the abdomen, body, and breasts after pregnancy and breastfeeding.
- Having completed planned pregnancies and breastfeeding, with the waiting period Dr. Díaz recommends.
- A stable weight and good general health.
- Pre-operative tests confirming that a combined procedure is appropriate; the final decision is made at the in-person evaluation.
Recovery
Recovery from a Mommy Makeover is usually more demanding than from a single procedure, since the body is healing in several areas at once. It includes wearing a compression garment and a surgical bra, post-operative lymphatic massages when Dr. Díaz indicates them, walking early, and avoiding direct pressure on the buttocks during the first weeks.
It is important to arrange support at home in advance, especially for childcare, since heavy lifting should be avoided during the first weeks. Returning to work and exercise is gradual and usually takes longer than with a single procedure, depending on each case. Follow-up visits accompany the entire recovery.
How the consultation works
At your first in-person consultation, Dr. Díaz reviews your medical history, including pregnancies and breastfeeding, assesses the abdomen, breasts, areas with available fat, and buttocks, and talks with you about your priorities. With that information, he determines whether it is safe to combine the procedures in one surgery or whether staging is advisable, and builds a personalized plan. First-time consultations are held Mondays and Thursdays, 11:00am–2:00pm, first-come, first-served. Our team can guide you and coordinate your visit on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
When is a good time for a Mommy Makeover?
It is usually recommended once no further pregnancies are planned, breastfeeding ended a sufficient time ago, and your weight is stable. Dr. Díaz will advise on the right timing for your case at the consultation.
Is it safe to have all the procedures at once?
It depends on each patient. Dr. Díaz weighs your general health, your pre-operative tests, and the estimated surgical time; if doing it all at once is not advisable, he may recommend carrying out the plan in stages.
What scars does it leave?
Mainly those of the abdominoplasty, low on the abdomen, and those of the mastopexy on the breasts, along with small liposuction incisions. They are planned to be as discreet as possible, and their final appearance varies by patient.
Can I have it done if I live abroad?
Yes. Many patients come from the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean, and we coordinate the process on WhatsApp before your trip. With a combined procedure, the recommended stay in the country is usually longer; Dr. Díaz will tell you how long to plan for.
