Liposuction + BBL in Santo Domingo

Body contouring with liposuction and transfer of your own fat to the buttocks for harmonious projection. The recommendation and plan are defined at an in-person evaluation with Dr. Díaz.

Dr. José Miguel Díaz · Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

About the procedure

Liposuction removes localized fat deposits from areas such as the abdomen, waist, flanks, or back. In a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift), part of that fat is processed and transferred to the buttocks to improve their contour, volume, and projection in harmony with the rest of the body.

The areas to treat and the volume to transfer are planned around each patient's anatomy, available fat, and goals. Current safety recommendations call for placing the fat in the subcutaneous layer, above the gluteal muscle. Some of the transferred fat may be reabsorbed, so the final volume varies from case to case.

Who it is considered for

  • People with localized fat on the abdomen, waist, back, or other areas who wish to improve the contour of the buttocks.
  • Enough available fat for the transfer, which is assessed during the physical exam.
  • A stable weight and good general health.
  • Realistic expectations about volume and proportion; the final recommendation comes from the in-person evaluation.

Recovery

After surgery, you will wear a compression garment and, when Dr. Díaz indicates it, attend post-operative lymphatic massages. During the first weeks, it is recommended to avoid direct, prolonged pressure on the buttocks, for example when sitting or sleeping on your back, following the specific instructions you will receive.

Swelling, bruising, and discomfort are expected and ease gradually. Walking early is encouraged, and activity is resumed step by step. Follow-up visits track your progress; the final contour usually becomes apparent over several months, depending on each case.

How the consultation works

At your first in-person consultation, Dr. Díaz reviews your medical history, assesses the areas with available fat and the shape of the buttocks, and talks with you about the proportions you hope to achieve. With that information, he determines whether the procedure is right for you and builds a personalized plan. First-time consultations are held Mondays and Thursdays, 11:00am–2:00pm, first-come, first-served. Our team can guide you and coordinate your visit on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I avoid sitting?

It is usually recommended to avoid sitting directly on the buttocks during the first weeks, and a special cushion is sometimes advised. Dr. Díaz will give you precise instructions for your case.

Does the transferred fat stay?

Part of the transferred fat is usually reabsorbed during the first months. The fat that takes can change in volume with weight fluctuations, so the result depends on each case and on keeping a stable weight.

What type of anesthesia is used?

The type of anesthesia depends on the areas being treated and on your medical evaluation. It is defined and explained in detail at the in-person consultation.

Can I have surgery if I live abroad?

Yes. Many patients come from the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean, and we coordinate the process on WhatsApp before your trip. At the consultation, you will be told how long you should plan to stay in the country for post-operative follow-up.
